Online vs. In-Store

by Daniel @ 8:09 am in Rants

So I go to Walmart.com yesterday and I see a couple of DVD's I'd like to get. One is season two of smallville for $19.95 a great price considering Best Buy has it for $44. I didn't really expect it to be in the store so I wasn't disappointed when it wasn't there. But while I was on their website, I looked up the move "Kingdom of Heaven" and it was $15.87. I thought great when I'm at the store I'll just pick that up instead. But NOOOO it's $19.95 at the store, and Walmart won't price match itself. So I could go home buy it from walmart.com and have it shipped to me cheaper than if I were to buy it in the store. Now that's retarded!

Also if you live in an area with multiple Wal-Mart's check the prices you'll see they actually vary their prices from location to location according to the area they are in. Example when I was in Dallas, I went to one in Arlington and they had the book cases for $39.99, then a little north (can't remember exact store, but a nicer [wealthier] town) they were $49.99, then in South Lake (very rich area) they were $59.99 so look for your low economic area and shop your favorite Wal-Mart there....

For the idiot who I deleted their comment cause they are retarded and foul mouthed. Thanks for stopping by and being stupid.

You made a comment about the 's on babbling's, saying the are plural. Well there is also something called a possesive, like the babbling that belongings to Daniel Coburn (i.e. me). And even if not have I ever stated I'm an english major? On the contrary english was my worse subject, I studied Medicine and have worked on applications for nuclear missles. So go jump in the hole you came from.

The distribution method for online and inhouse is entirely different. They wouldn't run on the same resupply database. WalMart doesn't have the greatest customer support and cross inventorying because it is cheap. There is a trade off and you should learn to accept it.

Trust me I accept it, I honestly do. I just find it ironic and funny. The item that truly disturbed me was 3 walmart locations in 15 minutes travel time had such a large discrpency in price. I thought the video things was stupid. I go to a lot of places to their online store and if they have a good advertised price, I'll run to pick it up simply because I save shipping. Eitherway, it's frustrating, kind of like taxes, you have to pay em, but you don't have to like them. Thanks for the note Nick!
